Disney Musicals in Schools
Disney Musicals in Schools ignites a passion for storytelling in communities by building sustainable theater programs in under-resourced public elementary schools. Four CMS elementary schools — specifically targeting 3rd - 5th grade students — will be selected to participate in the program free of charge, recognizing that this is a 3-year program commitment.

Poetry Out Loud
Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation that encourages the study of great poetry, helping students master public speaking skills and build self-confidence while learning about literary history and contemporary life. The program offers free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. Students advance from local contests to Regionals, then State competitions, and finally a National competition held in Washington DC. Children's Theatre of Charlotte is proud to be the host for the North Carolina Regional and State Finals of the Poetry Out Loud competition this year.

Jump into exploring theatre in a fun, informal way! All programs align with North Carolina Essential Standards and Common Core State Standards. Residencies offer longer-term experiences while Workshops offer single-day experiences - and both offer ready-made and customizable solutions. All options are designed to build a safe, positive environment for exploring creativity and confidence. Opportunities exist for PreK through 12th Grade.

We know teachers have a lot on their plate. So we’ve created materials that are ready to go and can easily be integrated into your lesson plan. Comprehensive guides provide rich content to build deeper connections to each show. Share cast bios, Q&As, links to reading material, activities, and more with your students.
