School of Theatre Training

The School of Theatre Training (SOTT) is a multi-faceted training program that offers students a structured approach to study the skills and techniques of theatre. Classes are offered for 10- and 20-Week sessions at varying age and experience level, allowing skilled Teaching Artists to meet students at their level of development and interest.
Students are recommended to join at the Launch or Foundations level, as neither of these classes have a prerequisite to join, and are designed for those new to theatre. Core and Advanced classes have prerequisites and require a teacher recommendation or exemption audition, as these classes expect regular attendance and regular work outside of class.
The CTC Conservatory is an audition-only company of students who are held to the highest standards. Its goal is to approach a student’s training holistically while in an intense, high-demand training environment. Regular attendance and a higher outside workload is expected. Auditions are held each spring for the following school year.

Students will...

  • Present a showcase for family and friends at the end of session.
  • Receive written evaluations by their Teaching Artists to show growth.
  • Receive an opportunity to join OnStage, connecting the classroom with a professional theatre experience (Core, Advanced Techniques, and Conservatory students ONLY).
