School Field Trips
Children's Theatre of Charlotte offers weekday performances of our award-winning productions for schools in our two theatre spaces at ImaginOn. At a time when many schools are cutting back on arts programs, a trip to CTC is an outstanding opportunity to expose your students to the power and wonder of live theatre and the arts. Additionally, all CTC productions meet specific Language and Theatre Arts Curriculum Standards. Specific curricular ties are detailed in our enhanced Teacher Resource Guides, created for all our productions and many of our Special Events. These free Guides feature creative activities to help support teachers’ lesson plans, and reinforce curricular connections before and after the field trip.
Many schools tell us we provide one of the best values and most professionally run field trip experiences in the region. Our home at ImaginOn features two wonderful performance spaces, the 550-seat McColl Family Theatre and the 250-seat Wells Fargo Playhouse, convenient parking and other amenities which help field trips go smoothly and efficiently.
Whether you are a long-time attendee, or considering a field trip to Children’s Theatre of Charlotte for the first time, we hope you will join us for an experience your students and teachers will never forget!

Field Trip Grants from US Airways
Field trips allow students to 'take off' on new education adventures. Through the US Airways Field Trip Fund, K-12 public schools with a minimum 70% Title I student population in the airline’s hub and focus cities, including Charlotte, can apply to receive a $500 grant to help fund transportation for educational field trips. Field trips eligible for consideration include visits to Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
Additionally, US Airways is proud to announce a special program of the Field Trip FUNd! just for schools with children of US Airways employees. US Airways will award a $250 grant, based on a competitive application process, to any public school to help fund transportation for educational field trips for grades K-12. To be eligible, the classroom requesting funding must have at least one student who is a qualified dependent child of an employee of US Airways or US Airways wholly owned subsidiaries (Piedmont or PSA), domestic and international at the time of the application and award.
For both programs, grants will be awarded directly to schools to be utilized for field trip ground transportation needs such as buses or gas. Applications are now available and the deadline to submit a grant for a Winter Field Trip Fund is 11:59 p.m. MST on Feb. 1, 2013.

Tarradiddle Players
Our Resident Touring Company has performed for well over one million children, in schools, community centers - towns big and small - across the Southeast, bringing smiles (and maybe a tear or two) to the faces of everyone they meet. We offer a completely self-sufficient, "turn-key" experience; our talented actors handle all set-up and breakdown, and are used to performing in a variety of spaces and situations. In School Programs
Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is dedicated to the idea that drama is an integral part of the human experience. Our In-School Program offerings are designed to enhance different areas of study, support the curriculum, and achieve an “above and beyond” experience in the classroom.
Goals and objectives for the various programs align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOC) and give teachers new and exciting ways to bring knowledge to life. Schools often seek funding support for these programs through PTA, private funds, or through a local granting agency such as ArtsTeach. All programs subject to availability.
