We will begin registration for SOTT in May for the 2013-14 school year. At this time, we are not able to take any additional students in our School of Theatre Training Program. For students who are interested in our classes, we do have workshops available for 2nd-12th graders. Click here for more information on our upcoming workshops. Level III Acting options are: Improvisation: Explore improvisational acting, as a performance style of its own and an integral tool to scripted work. Through ensemble work, theatre games and exercises, actors enhance and create scenes and characters challenging their creativity and commitment to the moment. Mastering the art of improvisation frees actors to trust their instincts and make quick decisions in theatrical situations.
Scene Study: Unravel the text to make it your own. This class is designed to further develop the skills of text analysis, characterization and partnering. Students study scripts for clues to character behavior and motivation, make choices in tandem with acting partners, and delve into intensive rehearsals to bring your scripts to life.
Level III Musical Theatre options are: Musical Theatre Styles & Genres: This class will focus on a variety of singing, dancing, and acting styles integral to success as a triple threat. Develop skills as a well rounded performer, while discovering the rich array of styles and genres that musical theatre has to offer to expand your theatrical knowledge and breathe of experience.
Advanced Vocal Technique: Discover methods to highlight your natural vocal talent while safely challenging yourself to stretch your range. This class will focus on the development and practice of vocal techniques suitable to solo and ensemble singing in a variety of musical styles, both historical and contemporary.
